GIIS KL grounds and classrooms transformed into a vibrant hub of learning, creativity, and collaboration on May 9th, 2026, as the school hosted its highly anticipated Parent Engagement Day. Running from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm, the event featured a comprehensive Parent Symposium Activity organized by the CBSE departments of English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Art, and FIT. Students and teachers from Classes 6 to 12 worked together to build a meaningful platform that showcased student talent while strengthening the vital partnership between parents and the school community.
The academic departments brought their curricula to life through interactive and experiential exhibits. In the Science Department, students enthusiastically presented scientific models, live experiments, and AI-based games spanning Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, sparking curiosity and underscoring the vital role of modern technology. Nearby, the Mathematics and IT Departments engaged parents with interactive logic puzzles, coding projects, robotics, and artificial intelligence demonstrations designed to foster analytical thinking and digital literacy.
Humanities, culture, and the arts were equally celebrated. The Social Science Department featured detailed projects and models covering History, Geography, Political Science, and Commerce, using active debates and discussions to enhance critical thinking and social awareness. The Language Department brought a joyful, multilingual spirit to the day, hosting cultural activities such as the Saraswati Vandana alongside interactive games in Hindi, French, Tamil, and Sanskrit to promote cultural appreciation. Meanwhile, the Art Department hosted an Inter-Class Art Competition that emphasized sustainability and environmental awareness, showcasing stunning original artwork crafted from recycled materials.
The English Department drew significant attention with its theme, "Magic and Innovation," tracing the evolution of English literature from classical eras to modern times. Visitors were treated to creative displays, including a whimsical fairy tale and Harry Potter-themed photo booth. The atmosphere was further elevated by student musical performances on drums and guitar. Celebrating the upcoming Mother’s Day, the department also organized a heartwarming Mother–Child Fashion Walk, which added a touch of warmth and created lasting memories for families.
The symposium successfully integrated several core values of the school’s holistic framework and global responsibilities. It highlighted multiple 9 Gems, including Academic Excellence, Visual and Performing Arts, Personality Development, Innovation and Creativity, Universal Values and Ethics, Community and Care, and Skill Development. Furthermore, the students' projects reflected a deep awareness of global issues, aligning with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16).
Ultimately, Parent Engagement Day 2026 was a resounding success. By celebrating experiential learning and creative innovation, the event not only highlighted the immense capability of GIIS students but also reinforced the school's commitment to nurturing confident, empathetic, and future-ready learners.
